We manufacture them from only wildfire-damaged deadwood, diseased trees and other residual biomass, leaving healthy woodland standing to preserve the planet’s forest carbon sinks.
An innovative, carbon-neutral steam explosion process produces our best-in-class biofuel pellets – so power stations, steel mills and industrial factories incur no costly upgrades or downtime to use them.
Power Wood’s advanced black pellets are proven to burn with 87 percent of the energy of coal but using them produces just 6 percent of coal’s carbon footprint.

Our carbon-neutral facilities exist on the fringes of forest regions, a minimal distance from deadwood feedstock sources. We work there closely with Indigenous communities to learn from them and enhance their forest environment.
Together, we produce the world’s most tightly packed biofuel pellets – to maximize their energy payload and mitigate their carbon footprint.
At the point of burning, they produce almost 90 percent of coal’s energy but have produced six percent of coal’s atmospheric carbon to get there.

Steam-exploded black pellets are the latest evolution in clean-tech biofuel. They’re celebrated for their manifold upgrade on white and torrefied pellets as a replacement for coal.
Their regular profile, mechanical strength and superior density allows more energy to be transported, stored and consumed per volumetric unit.
Durable, waterproof and energy-rich, they can be stockpiled outdoors to cut out the cost of dry silo storage. Unlike previous pellets, our innovative advanced black pellets don’t break down when wet.
And their grindability is another advancement. Pulverized for co-firing in industry, their homogenous coal-like granules support consistent burn control and energy production.
