Advanced Black Pellets
Power Wood Canada Corp produces sustainable, innovative bio-coal that keeps power generating stations in commission and slashes their carbon footprint by 94 percent.
Our next-generation black biofuel pellets are homogenous, durable, waterproof and energy-dense. They have every positive property of coal. But producing and burning them generates only six percent of the greenhouse gases caused by consuming coal.
Existing coal-fired energy plants need no modifications to storage, conveyance or furnace infrastructure to use our advanced black pellets.
And with a huge 87 percent of coal’s energy release too, they are its only true ‘drop in’ replacement for the energy transition.
Power Wood’s black pellets are highly compact with significantly greater bulk density than all other available biofuel pellets.
Denser composition, a more homogenous profile and a much bigger energy payload enable advanced black pellets to transport a stable 29 percent more energy per unit volume than white wood pellets.
Bound and coated with natural lignin –– plant life’s waterproofing polymer – steam explosion black pellets are fully hydrophobic. They don’t disintegrate on contact with water, or when fully submerged. Non-friable, they resist nearly all knocks and abrasions.
Stored outdoors, they cut the costs of covered bays and humidity-controlled dry silo storage.
Power Wood manufactures black pellets from treated wildfire deadwood, beetle-infested woodland and forestry industry residuals – leaving ancient old growth trees to cleanse the atmosphere.
Our raw materials are harvested from plains of fire-ravaged standing and fallen boreal forest. Long-term Crown forestry rights and Indigenous council agreements allow us fixed-fee access to feedstock so our biofuel prices remain stable.
Power Wood’s large lumber harvests also prevent the release of decomposition methane, create wildfire fuel breaks and promote the reforestation of the world's second largest carbon sink.
Advanced black pellets made from waste stream deadwood are a truly renewable source of energy.
Power Wood Canada Corp’s biofuel pellets help companies and industries to decarbonize their operations, and nations to meet their energy transition targets.
The Hardgrove Grindability Index of our advanced black pellets is close to coal – producing a homogenous granular power that keeps milling rooms running and supports stable power generation.
Our biofuel keeps original coal-fired energy infrastructure in operation, without the release of any local harmful particulates and with little ash or slag left in furnaces. Its low carbon footprint and circular economy supports sustainability accreditation.
Energy-rich advanced black biofuel displaces coal and drives efficiency and environmentalism.
Switch out coal. Drop in black pellets. Forget about pollution.
